Awesome game!!!, finished the first campaign, love the pixel graphics, gore and background object physics.
Found an easy exploit: if you lightly tap jump you can shoot enemies on the floor above you without having to jump entirely to next floor. it makes it too easy to kill enemies above you without taking damage. Maybe disable shooting during the peak of the jump? Other than that, fantastic game!
I only played the tutorial but I gotta tell you that the "R" I'm supposed to press and "A" look so similar that it took a few moments to understand why "A" didn't work. It really doesn't help that something so straightforward would be any source of frustration during a tutorial.
Wow! Really smooth pixel-shooter. I loved it. Some small points of feedback:
You can only go back to campaign selection by pressing Esc, which makes the game exit fullscreen
Automatically starting the next level would be really nice, going back to the menu every time breaks the pace a bit
From the comments I understand that you have to play an entire campaign without taking damage to unlock the golden weapons? But this is not explained anywhere in the game
The soundtrack and audio design are awesome. There is some interesting movement tech in there when combining gun knockback for high jumps and the dash for extra sideways speed.
Overall very Polish-ed game that is up there in quality.
EDIT: a small bug I found, when I used the portal gun and walked into the portal it sent me to the tutorial level for some reason
Thanks! The game was originally developed for desktop only and the web version has it's quirks with espace key because of that. I will try to figure out something to make it better. There is a setting to start the next level that shows up after you finish it ;) The golden AK and other quests can be found in the quests tab. It's accessible in pause menu or main menu. The portal gun is an easter egg :)

Fair enough. I redid every level without taking damage and it worked. by the way, are the collectable labels also bugged? i feel like i got everything in the second world but it still says i only have 94% completion.
About the enemies only shooting you when you're level with them: how about making it so that enemies only *become* aware of you when you're level with them, but then continue to be aware of you until you completely leave their sight?
I actually already implemented this mechanic in the early development, but it felt too hard and decided to scrap it. But the weapons and health balance was way off back then so I might give it another shot and see how it feels now
Definitely one of the best games I played on ITCH! All visual and music effects are really good also the moment with the birds is very interesting! I played the game twice and I made a video with full weapons. So it's not really walkthrough. For my taste the main menu and map can also be in pixel art. However, your project is full of potential. I hope you will create more levels and more effects in game. Wish you the best of luck!👍

I tried it today, and it was a fun experience. Some level variety would really help! It feels like you're doing a lot of the same for each one since most of the gameplay takes place in this very small area of the map for each level.

Levels were designed in such a fashion to always leave room for strategic and not direct combat, but you style also works quite well! Hello! Just wanted to let you know that I listened to your feedback and updated the game accordingly. The shield now regenerates, the player receives less damage, enemies die faster, there is a brand new abilities system, leveling up, money system and much more!
This game is cool ! I want to rate the graphics first, the graphics is looks good i really impressed and the gameplay mechanics which the player shooting the enemies is also good, like the explosion, the blood effects make me more engaged with the game. At first, i die several times to finish the first level, it seems though for me but when i play many times know the tricks how to defeat the enemy and when to use shield to win that level. Fortunately, it have key bindings so i can use my own controls for the game, the default one seems difficult to use for me, Musics are good as well ! Keep it up bro !

Yes, you are right! Scar-H (inspiration for Rifle MK. III) is also high caliber, but I chose this naming convention to avoid using real gun names

the golden rifle quest is bugged. i keep doing level 2 without taking damage, but it won't give me the weapon no matter what.
Just the level labels are bugged. If you finish all of them without damage you will receive the rifle ;)

I will look into it but I think it should be fine. There are 4 collectables hidden in 4 different levels in the second campaign ;)
Just tested it and it works fine. There are 4 collectables located in level 1, 2, 6, 7
